The
sky churned with dark light, bathing the world in a harsh glow of womb red. The
earth beneath our feet trembled as a black sphere broke through the stars. As if
its liquid blackness beckoned to us... as if it spoke. Before my fellow kinship
could flee, seek the safety of cover, it was upon our world. As black as the
depths of space. As haunting as the depths of Hell.
There was no escape...
There was no hope... No hope at all...
And Earth...
Earth is next.

The time has come...
Are you prepared?
What if you were witness to a series of events linked
together by a single truth. A single notion...
Linked together -- by destiny.
From the birth of an alien world 300 billion light years
from Earth to the Roswell incident. From the truth of what
happened to Amelia Earhart that fateful night over the
Pacific to a young boy and girl who suddenly find their
world turned upside down as their History teacher becomes a
herald to an alien invasion... and what if you found that at
the center of it all stood a young janitor with a power
unlike anything the universe has ever seen. An unimaginable
power found within the whisper of his voice.
And what if, as you lay there upon the cool tile of one of
your high school's many hallways, that young janitor, after
just stopping you from becoming an alien cuisine, in a burst
of electricity and light, of power and energy, whisked you
and your best friend away into the stars and to an alien
planet on the brink of destruction... where it will not only
take a new breed of hero to defend the planet... but a
family.
And what if - once you reached that alien world, once the
dust settled, once the smoke cleared... what if when you
looked up - you saw the father you lost twelve years ago
reaching his hand out to you with a smile.
What if he said:
"On your feet,
Lander...
You've just been
drafted."

The world caught fire. The stars shook as if a behemoth was
lumbering toward us... We were lost - sealed off from the
rest of the world. All communications: radios, televisions,
wireless... all of it... closed off. Jammed. Nothing but
static. And... and something else.
Minutes before, there was panic... no, it was chaos...
callers flooded 911, radio stations and late night
conspiracy talk shows were inundated with reports of
strange glowing grids within the sky heralding a song from
the stars... The media, the government, anyone in power
dismissed it. They laughed... they actually laughed. Said
they were pranks spreading from one childish soul to another.
They said it was nothing more than a hoax.
Just a hoax... just a hoax...
I
just wonder if they're still laughing...
